No tax increases during a recession! DEMS push anti-small business and anti-family legislation without clear advance notice on House Calendar.  This is a deliberate attempt to stifle debate and ram these tax-raising and job-cutting policies through without the public’s attention. All Republicans on House Finance will be opposed.  It is a 6-5 committee; so ONE Democrat vote against can kill a bill.

If you plan to testify, be prepared, to the point & respectful.  No colorful language or insults — NO signs or flags permitted unless you want to stay on the sidewalk outside of the venue.  But, we need people inside to hopefully fill the room that holds 100 and as many as possible to speak.  Since there are 12 bills, people should spread their signing up across the sheets so there are a decent number speaking for each bill.  You can speak about more than one, but it would be better to have several people speak about each rather than the same handful of people speaking about each. These hearings will run late; so consider a “tag-team” approach with a friend who can sign you in early to speak later.

I don’t know why politicians don’t understand that the only way to hire is to have a large enough margin (income – overhead = margin). I’ll be glad to show a sign of this simple equation in case they forget..
Prosperity for business, means higher employment, means higher revenue for the State. Errrr.. got that?
You increase the overhead, it either raises prices for a poorer contracting customer base or you can’t hire. This raises the price for everyone. Now it’s 26% higher retail prices due soley to taxes. A gallon of gas could cost 60 cents less per gallon.. for 20 gallons that’s 12 dollars. For a trucker that delivers products, that is a large difference and that too is rolled into the price of goods at the point of sale. They are already taxing businesses and the individual into the ground. How is that stimulating anything economically.

Price cannot go ever higher, contrary to the Politicians wishful thinking.
There for overhead must be decreased. Taxes are overhead. What does that tell them?
Can I say that in testimony? I own a simple mobile hot dog cart and jumping castle. Does my voice count? I can’t even hire employees the way things are now with liability costs, employer matching funds, income taxes, compliance costs (H&R Block). I can only guess how a larger company will do it. Lobby like hell and get blamed by Progressives for it, or layoff people and get blamed for that too.

    God Bless,
