Barbara Fitzgerald passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Barbara was a long-time member of the Republican Trumpeteers of Adams County and is a former District II Director for the Colorado Federation of Republican Women. Barbara was an active volunteer for the Republican Party. Mary Dambman fondly remembers, “I recall her doing mailings at the 7th Congressional District Office in Jefferson County. She couldn’t do phone calls or walk, but she was there to do mailings all day for Bob Beauprez and Rick O’Donnell, and for US Senate and Presidential Candidates in 2008 and 2010. Sonny took her wherever she was needed.”
The service for Barbara will be held on Thursday, June 9, at 10:30 am. A viewing will be held prior to the service, at 9:30 am. Our President, Betty Jean Beall, will be preparing flowers for the service and would appreciate donations to cover the cost of the flowers. The announcement for the service is in today’s Denver Post.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 39 years, Clendon “Sonny” Fitzgerald, and four children. Sonny said that Barbara knew her time was coming and had time to say goodbye to family and close friends. Sonny also said that about a half hour before Barbara passed, she said she was ready to go be with her Lord.
We ask that you keep the Fitzgerald family in your prayers. Betty Jean Beall will be attending the service. If a ride is needed, please contact Betty Jean at (303) 426-7079.

Media, Muslim Family Sabotaged GOP in Colorado in 2010
It’s official.
Media malpractice combined with disgruntled Muslim Republican family- who later defected to the Democrats- caused the GOP to lose the governor’s race in Colorado in 2010.
The Colorado Supreme Court’s Attorney Regulation Counsel issued a report last week clearing the top Republican candidate of unsubstantiated charges made by the Denver Post and the Hasan family at the end of the campaign. The charges influenced the outcome of the election.
A scan of the report can be found on Complete Colorado.
Sadly, the report came too late to give Republicans a real choice on who their nominee for governor would be in 2010.
In a race the GOP was destined to win, the strongest Republican candidate, Republican Scott McInnis, got bulldozed by reporting regarding plagiarism that was not just largely wrong, but wrong in almost every respect, we now know.
The case is almost a treatise on why the public no longer trusts their newspapers and local TV stations to be fair and accurate. If there were any more red flags on the case, they would have had to include the hammer and sickle.
The Colorado Supreme Court’s Attorney Regulation Counsel issued a report last week that McInnis’ version of events, not the Denver Post’s or the Colorado Independent’s or the Gazette’s, was correct; that in fact McInnis did nothing wrong.
Show Your Support For TABOR
May 23, 2011
Dear Coloradan,
A lawsuit was filed in federal court seeking to invalidate Colorado’s Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights. This lawsuit is an attack not only on TABOR but, the very principle of a constitutionally limited government.
The plaintiffs in this lawsuit display a profound misunderstanding of what the founders of our nation and authors of the US Constitution meant by guaranteeing a ‘republican form of government.’
Show your support for Colorado’s Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights by signing the following petition.
Sincerely,
Mike Kopp
Senate Minority Leader
