Hi Tricia,
If you simply look at the county web site, that information is usually there. For Example, since this is the Adams County Republican site, if you look in Adams County, you can go to this page: http://co-adamscounty.civicplus.com/index.aspx?nid=161, and it clearly states the party affiliation of each office holder. For most counties, you can find this information if you look. This information is not being concealed from voters, but you do have to look for it with regard to each county. I'm not sure why you have included a URL for a California candidate. I'm also not sure why that candidate is still concerned about President Obama's birth certificate. I thought that was resolved. Obama came into existence from nothingness and is our new messiah... or he is a U.S. citizen. I suppose if I have to be rational, then I have to go with the fact in all likelihood and beyond a reasonable doubt, he is a U.S. Citizen. Either way, he's a pretty good guy. :)
Thanks,

It is impossible to determine who is a Republican and who is a Democrat and this is very important because more and more people are wanting to vote along party lines due to the great division between conservatives and liberals. I wanted to write to the Clerk & Recorders in Counties where these elected officials are Republican and it is impossible to find out their party affiliation. It is outrageous that this information is being concealed from the voters. What is this, more political correctness being shoved down our throats. If you have not heard about the work being done by orlytaitzesq.com I hope you will visit her website.

I'm not sure how you missed the fact that the elections in 2011 were municipal and school board elections. Those elections are "non-partisan" which means that although most candidates are affiliated with one part or another, technically, no candidate has a party affiliation on the ballot. Interestingly, Federal employees, generally may not run for a partisan election due to the Hatch act. So these very local elections are some of the few races a Federal employee may run for. I think that gives a sufficient gap between the Federal government for which the employee works, but allows for some participation by those people.
I'm a Democrat, but I like checking out the Republican site to see what's going on there as well. I think competition is important, and I think that the Adams county Republicans are doing a better job with their web site currently, but I don't understand why no one has answered this question after nearly a month. I think this is something any voter should know about. I disagree with you that Republicans are morons for the ballot. The Republicans and Democrats and for that matter any other party have no real control over the non-partisan elections. I think the parties, and in this case, the Republicans could do a better job of informing their base how the non-partisan elections work.
Since so much of politics is partisan, it may be confusing to those who haven't been involved in local elections to find out that there are indeed elections in which the parties are not technically involved, and in which the candidates do not declare a party.
