Help Needed Right Here in Adams County!

Immediate!  Very Short-Term!

Many of you may be aware of Proposition 103, which will appear on the ballots to be mailed out in just 8 days.  It raises our taxes in the name of K-12 education, but it is a Democratic ruse for simply fattening government coffers.  (And even if it DID throw more money at education, that's not the answer to our education problems!)
We need to stop Prop 103!

We have 200 "No On Prop 103" yard signs which need to be posted.  The committees who gave them to us would like them to be posted on main thoroughfares.  BUT, the problem is that, in most jurisdictions here in AdCo, rules about signs have tightened.  So we need to look at private property locations — either good locationyards (corners!) or private commercial property.  If you don't have either, you might know someone (or several people) who has/have.  Please help! Let me know how many signs you can place (heypattymac@juno.com              303-457-1291      ) and we'll make arrangements.

We also have 2000 half-sheet flyers to get out.  If you would be willing to help distribute them outside a store (I have the rules for that) or otherwise, please contact me.

You're needed.  If you can help in any way, please let me know!

VOTE NO ON PROPOSITION 103

VOTE NO ON PROPOSITION 103

A tax increase of nearly 7% is not reasonable, not fair and not right; the economy is only growing at 1% -
It’s too much taxing!

What is Proposition 103?
·        A proposition to raise state sales tax, and personal and business income taxes that will be on the November 1, 2011 ballot
·        Increased taxes (upwards of $500,000,000 in its first year) will go into the general fund to be spent anyway the legislature chooses although taxpayers are told it will go to P-12 and higher education
Who is behind it?
·        Rollie Heath, a Boulder senator put the initiative on this year’s ballot
·        Even his fellow legislators would not agree to refer the tax increase to voters, so they paid to get petition signatures
How will Proposition 103 affect you?
·        Prop 103 is a JOB KILLER – an estimated 30, 500 Colorado jobs will be lost as a direct result
·        This is not about the kids, it’s about giving money to unions and administrators
·        Education already gets about half of the General Fund, plus more tax money from Amendment 23
·        Prop 103 will hurt families that are already struggling to pay the rising costs of energy, food, gasoline, health insurance and car registration fees

“The purpose is to raise revenue…we don’t need to get hung up on fairness.”
Dee Wisor, attorney for Colorado Fiscal Policy Institute (early backers of raising taxes)

Even the Denver Post said in an editorial on July 24, 2011,
“ …the governor is smart to steer clear of tax hikes.”

They say it’s “for the children” but Bright Colorado is Not Too Bright!

Your 2011 Republican Municipal Candidates

The 2011 Municipal elections will be held Tuesday November 1st

Here is a list of REPUBLICAN candidates in Mayoral, City Council, and School Board Races in Adams

County. We are in the last few campaign weeks before the mail-ballots drop on October 11. This is a

time when candidates NEED YOUR HELP. When it was supplied to me, I included contact info for the

candidate. For the others, Google the candidate’s name and either the city/state or the school district

number. If the candidate has a website, which should have contact info, you can find it that way.

Folks, these races are IMPORTANT. The races are “non-partisan,” but all that means is that there is no R

or D after the candidate’s name on the ballot. It has nothing to do with the principles held by a candidate

and where we throw our support. The Dems have been taking most of these seats for years, and the

Progressive agenda has been showing up in our cities and schools. We need to take back control at every

level of government. PLEASE help out. If you have trouble finding info for a candidate, contact me at 303-

457-1291 or heypattymac@juno.com, and I will help you search.

Adams County Commissioners Refer Ballot Question to Voters

State Law Mandates Referral of this Measure to the 2012 General Election

08/31/2011 – The Adams County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution in public hearing today, directing county staff to prepare a ballot question asking voters whether or not to increase the Board of County Commissioners from three to five members. This resolution represents a commitment the board made as part of the strategic reform package adopted on May 25, 2011.

"We promised citizens we would enact sweeping reforms to bring good and responsible government to Adams County," said Chairman W. R. "Skip" Fischer. "Today, we are following through on another reform measure." Read more…
